Gary huffed coldly. It could be considered his satisfaction with Kevan’s answer.
“Lari isn’t holding you accountable for all the terrible things that you did before?” Gary asked again.
He seemed to want to dig into Kevan’s “dark past“, which made Kevan feel rather awkward.
Even to Kevan himself, the things he did before were definitely too much.
He could not use “there was a reason” as a way to explain it all away.
“I will not make those mistakes again, and I will treat Lari so much better than before to make up for everything
wrong that I did.”
Gary did not question Kevan’s words.
Truthfully, Gary had noticed everything that Kevan had done for so long, including the way Larissa changed her
attitude toward Kevan.
Gary knew everything.
Since Larissa did not mind Kevan’s past anymore, Gary had no reason to keep holding on to this as the parent.
He just needed to humble the guy a little.
He could still trust Kevan’s character.
“Last question.” Gary put away all his dramatics and asked seriously. “Can you promise that you’ll treat Aster as
your own son? Even though you and Lari will have other children, you must not treat him unfairly!”

“Of course. The truth is–Kevan sucked in a deep breath. “Aster is my child.”
“Don’t throw lies at me!” Gary did not get what Kevan was saying.
“No, I mean-” Kevan changed the way he said it. “Aster is my son–my biological son. I made Lari get pregnant with
him before she came

Gary sat back on the couch again. He was still glaring at Kevan while his chest heaved, showing that he was having
