“And this will be the medical centre.” I look at the blueprint laid out on the table, he’s showing me what

the high street will look like once the builders have been in. “I was thinking with Mary’s pup and now

another on the way, how about a small park and a play area?” I nod my head smiling as I sip at my hot

water and lemon, we are alone in the kitchen, Cas is sleeping and Sally is off collecting some

vegetables or something.

“Like a soft play centre?” Rowan nods while opening his notepad.

“We have three people in the Pack currently qualified to care for children up to the age of five.” A knock

at the back door has Rowan turning to look at it as I get up from the table to answer it.

“Sounds good, if you get me some plans I can look it over.” Opening the door I see Eric and Sophie

standing there, Eric looks as amazing as ever and Sophie looks terrified. “Hey guys, come on in.” I

open the door and they both walk in and greet Rowan.

“Is Alpha Cas about?” Eric asks as Sophie takes a seat at the table, I can see her glancing her eyes

down at the blueprint.

“He’s napping at the moment, can’t it wait?” Rowan stands from the table and crosses his arms. I don’t

know why but the tension has just ridden up in the kitchen.

“Is it anything I can help with?” I step between the two males and look at Rowan, “I am Luna, surely I

can help?” Rowan sighs before nodding

and sitting back at the table, “does one of you want to fill me in?” Sitting back down in my seat I wave

my hand, gesturing for Eric to take a seat.

“I’m heading back to Texas,” Eric says as he leans against the breakfast bar, crossing his arms over his

chest, he just stands there instead of taking the seat I offered. “I want to take Sophie with me.” I look

over at Sophie and see her smiling at her Uncle.

“Seems quite the jump considering her mother could still show up again.” I look over at Sophie and see

she’s still smiling, she doesn’t seem concerned that her Uncle wants to take her to Texas. “How did

Cas feel about this?” I turn to Rowan who flicks through his note pad.

“He thought it was a good idea but wanted to speak to Sophie to make sure it’s what she wanted

before he released her to Eric’s care.” Rowan slides a piece of paper over to me as I turn to Sophie.

“Is it what you want? Your mother could show up again and she might be upset to know you left with an

Uncle you didn’t even know you had.” I don’t know much about mother’s but I can feel Ghost leading

me in what to say, it’s almost like she’s making the words leave my mouth.

“I want to go, even if momma comes back I don’t want to be here.” Leaning across the table I take

Sophie’s hand in mine, “she wasn’t a very good momma and Uncle Eric says I can keep going to

school and maybe even College one day. I could be a full member of the Pack or I could go and work

like Selena does.” I can feel the need floating around Sophie, she’s telling the truth, she wants nothing

more than to have a perfectly normal life.

“Like Selena? You want to be a Doctor?” I ask Sophie without looking at either of the men, I can feel

them watching me but I give Sophie my

“A nurse, I want to spend more time caring for people.” I pat Sophie’s hand as I lean back from her and

look over at Eric, he’s watching Sophie with a soft smile that seems to make his whole face appear

gentle and kind.

“You will make sure she doesn’t go without, she might not be Everfur anymore but I will always count

her as part of our Pack.” Eric nods his head as Rowan gives me a small smile and dips his chin to the

paper, picking it up I unfold it and see the words written upon it. “Sophie Murray, I Eva Smith release

you from your pledge to the Everfur Pack.” I gasp as Sophie connection breaks, I see the tears in

Sophie’s green eyes as she starts to rub at her forehead.

“You did well Luna.” I smile at Rowan as I try to stop the wave of nausea rolling through me.

“I agree,” spinning in my chair I see a tired looking Cas leaning against the kitchen doorway. “When do

you leave for Texas?” He’s speaking to Eric but his eyes are firmly on mine, licking my lips I break the

connection as I start to feel that ache between my legs.

“The car is all packed, I was going to set off after coming to see you.” Eric nods at Sophie, she quickly

stands at the table before turning to the three of us.

“Thank you for looking after me, I’ll always remember you guys.” Walking across the kitchen she walks

out of the door and waits for her Uncle.

“You will call when you get there? So I know you both arrived safely?” I ask Eric as I get up from the

table and walk over to Cas, I’m feeling a little sad with Eric leaving. I can’t say I know him well but he

tried to help me at a very difficult time in my life so it’s a very hard thing to see him go.

“Of course and you will stay out of trouble?” I nod my head at him as he smiles at me before nodding at

Cas and Rowan and following Sophie out of the door.

“Well that’s everyone gone.” Rowan stands from the table and looks at both of us, “what is it?” I’m

confused what he means until I look up and see a look of concern on Cas’s face.

“The Elders will be here in three, maybe four days.” I feel my jaw tense as I grind my teeth together, I

thought I would have more time, at least with them coming so soon I will still be pregnant. Surely they

won’t hurt a pregnant female.

“So we need to get Eva introduced as soon as possible.” Rowan starts to walk out of the kitchen, “I’ll

set it up for nightfall?” Cas nods his head as he wraps a hand around my shoulders and draws me into

his chest.

“Don’t worry, Angel. I won’t let anyone hurt you.” I bury my face into his chest and breathe in his scent,

the need to have him take me again is back but my worry is beating it. It’s like a black ball of dread that

is filling my stomach, I’ve never felt anything like this.

“I just found you, found the Pack, my family.” Leaning back from his chest I look up into his tired eyes.

“I’m not ready to lose you.” Cast smiles down at me as he leans in to place a kiss on my forehead.

“You’re not going anywhere. Angel. I’ll fight them with every weapon I have if I have to.” I know he’s

trying to make me feel more comfortable but I just know that we have one hell of a fight in front of us.

“Shall we go take a nap?” Stepping back from him I tug on his hand and lead him towards the

basement, “you look really tired.”

“I am, someone has been keeping me awake.” I giggle as I lead him

down the basement stairs and then along to the bedroom.

“I didn’t hear you complaining.” I feel him tug on my arm as I go to open the bedroom door, I squeal as

he pulls me into his chest and lays a deep kiss on my lips. I moan into his mouth as his taste explodes

across my tongue, all too soon he’s pulling back and looking into my eyes.

“I will never complain about you keeping me awake.” I smile up at him with hooded eyes, “that being

said, shall we?” He nods towards the bedroom door and I just giggle again as I walk in. We don’t bother

turning on the lights or stripping down, fully dressed we lay on the bed with my back to Cas’s front. I fall

into a light sleep feeling Cas’s big hand rub across my stomach.
