Derrick’s face was gloomy and angered. He looked up at Gabriella with a little perfunctory and
nonchalant manner. he said,
“Gabriella, marry me. I’ll give her to you. I’ll make you very happy.”
Gabriella was very unhappy when he heard the shortened version of the marriage proposal. But not

Derrick hastily got up and turned to leave. The sudden change in his atutude left everyone perplexed.

Olive had been unable to figure out why he slandered her all these years. Her mother really did like him.
She did not understand why he did what he did.

Olive pushed him away and turned to leave.
