As the math teacher turned around. he tapped on Sterling’s desk.
Sterling lifted his head from the crook of his arm, his dark, narrow eyes still drowsy from sleep. He
glanced at the desk next to him, spotting a notebook belonging to Audrey with Corbin’s name on it. He
picked it up, his long fingers with prominent knuckles giving it a tug.
The paper fell off the notebook, was torn into pieces, crumpled into a ball, and ended up in the trash
can.

Audrey’s lips. After bowing to the math. teacher, she trotted off to her seat.
Seeing that Sterling had woken up at some point, she was slightly taken aback.
