Once again, he stood by Xaviera, in opposition to himself. Mrs. Mamet’s face twisted in anger.
But Caleb wasn’t done speaking. He turned to Vita, his tone even more sinister: “And you ... you know exactly who I went to the
civil affairs bureau to marry.”
